Installation
The Smarthandle™ can be installed as a retrofit on existing aircraft or directly on to the airframe at the production line. It is available as a stand-alone, self-powered unit fitted to each aircraft door, working autonomously or as an integral part of the aircraft in cohesion with existing aircraft door systems.
Stand Alone Smarthandle™
The Smarthandle™ is capable of being installed within a couple of hours by any certified engineer. Once installed, each Smarthandle™ unit operates independently from the other. Being self powered and automatically armed with the door, the Smarthandle does not rely on any aircraft system. There are no servicing requirements apart from battery replacement replacement during routine aircraft maintenance checks.
Integrated Smarthandle™
The Smarthandle™ may be operated as an integral part of the aircraft. Using aircraft power with rechargeable battery back-up guarantees continual operation even when the aircraft is powered down. It can be linked to existing electronic indicating systems, arming the
Smarthandle™ automatically as the door is armed.
